Tickets to the 33rd Shaliapin Festival went on sale on Thursday.

(Kazan, 18 December, Tatar-inform, Alsu Gataullina). Tickets to the 33rd Shaliapin Festival, due between 1 and 17 February at Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre, went on sale on Thursday.

Theatre’s deputy director Yuri Larionov told Tatar-inform how tickets were distributed.

“All the theatre’s tickets are throughout the season and during festivals sold via our partner, Biletti company,” he said. Some 25-30 percent were sold at the theatre’s box office, some 5 percent were sold online, while the rest was distributed by authorised representatives, he added. Representatives worked including with companies and associations, he said.

“We have a transparent, clear and convenient system of ticket sales. Practice shows we conduct the right policy. Ticket sales began this morning. In all, 950 tickets to one show are sold, one third of them being sold through the theatre’s box office. I think tickets to the upcoming Shaliapin Festival will sell out in a day. People wait for this festival for a year, they like the quality of the performances. We tried to achieve success for 30 years. Probably, it was achieved because we know how to work,” he shared.

Ticket prices varied depending on the show, theatre’s box office commented. Performances known to the audience cost 300 to 1,600 roubles, Porgy and Bess costs 500 to 2,000 roubles, while tickets to the galas range between 800 and 3,200 roubles.
