Natalia Kasatkina: The theater will present a wide repertoire in Kazan

Tours of Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasilev State Academic Classical Ballet Theater are being held in Kazan from 18 to 23 November.

(Kazan, November 18, Tatar-inform, Alsu Gataullina). Tours of Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasilev State Academic Classical Ballet Theater are being held in Kazan from 18 to 23 November. Natalia Kasatkina, Russian People's Artist, a laureate of the USSR State Award and an artistic director, the leading soloist Yekaterina Berezina, the head of the troupe Sergey Belorybkin, the leading soloist Nikolay Chevychelov and the leading singer Artem Khoroshilov have told about the program presented in Kazan at a press conference in Tatar-inform.

As for Natalia Kasatkina, the repertoire is a various. "We tried to make our repertoire different from Musa Jalil Tatar Opera and Ballet Theater’s repertoire. The only coincidence is Spartacus performance, but it differs from all other existing Spartacus. There is a Aram Khachaturyan’s music. Also, we restore the historical truth: the performance ends with Crassus’s triumph. Besides, The Firebird, The Rite of Spring, Creation of the World, Strauss Gala, Mowgli, and Cinderella performances will be shown,” she explained.

Sergey Belorybkin said that all the performances brought to Kazan were the author’s work.

In turn, Nicholay Chevychelov said that playing in author’s productions was hard but interesting. An author is working with an actor here, tells him his vision, and artists offer own version. It is possible to create a perfect performance by working together.

Sergey Belorybkin noted that the following principle always worked in the theater - an artist should not only be able to dance, but to be charismatic as well. "Vladimir Vasilev attaches a great importance to the acting performance. He can forgive technical errors, but if there is no dramatic performance, he is always very harsh,” the head of the troupe said.

Also, Natalia Kasatkina reported that the theater did not have own stage. The theater shows performances at various stages in Moscow, among them stages of New Opera theater, the State Kremlin Palace, the Rossiya State Concert Hall. "Vladimir and Ivan Vasilevs [the husband and the son of Natalia Kasatkina] are trying to fight with bureucracy. Our staff reports to the federal government, and the land belongs to Moscow. They cannot reach an agreement with each other. We are checked by endless inspections, sued in court; we win the cases. We do everything under law, but the barriers are endless,” she said.
