Over 20 thousand Europeans see performances by Jalil Opera and Ballet Theatre’s opera company

(Kazan, November 19, Tatar-inform). the Tatar Opera and Ballet Theatre after Musa Jalil last weekend concluded its European tour. Over 1.5 months, the artistes staged over 30 performances abroad. The operas Turandot and La Traviata were shown in Amsterdam, the Hague, Gouda and other cities.

“The performances have been a great success,” theatre’s deputy director, Yuri Larionov, said. “The curtain was raised at least three times after each performance – the audience would give an ovation! Following the shows, people would come up to the principals, expressing their delight and wishing to buy discs with the opera’s record.”

According to the tour’s organisers, the theatre’s shows in Europe had been seen by over 20 thousand viewers, ticket price in various cities ranging between 25 to 45 euros.

“It is a usual price range for the Netherlands,” Yuri Larionov commented. “Importantly, the shows took place on country’s largest stages, the famous Lucent Danstheater in the Hague, for instance. The huge house seating 1,000 was full. Europeans are familiar with the brand Staatsoper Tatarstan and buy tickets to the shows in advance.”

Immediately upon return, the company begins to rehearse its current repertoire, the first performance, Boris Godunov, being scheduled for 22 November, the theatre’s press service reports.
