Performances of the XXX International opera festival named after F.I.Shalyapin: «Carmen»

Performance of «Carmen» has been included in program of XXX International opera festival. The world-famous opera by Georges Bizet will appear in the production by G. Kovtun.

«In ten years «Carmen» will become the most popular opera in the world… », - fatefully predicted P. Tchaikovsky. The prediction came true: today «Carmen» is indubitable hit. Theatre of opera and ballet named after Musa Jalil is proud of its own «exclusive» interpretation of the most popular opera. The premiere took place exactly a year ago, in the network of XXIX festival.

«Carmen» by the stage director Georgy Kovtun is the opera imbued with the energy of the dance. Ardent movements of flamenco and passionate seguidilla, inflammatory habanera transports audience to a sultry Spanish Seville of 19 century. Vivid «cine» sets and costumes (according to the idea of the director on the stage showed the process of shooting the film), magnificent melodies, a lot of active crowd scenes and many other surprises for  audience of this performance to see. And even though dilemma – «love or freedom» won`t be resolved, in the end you will not be disappointed!

On February 12 the main parts will be played by:
Carmen – soloist of the National opera of Ukraine, Anjelina Shvacka,
Don José and Escamillo – soloists of The Mariinsky theatre, Ahmed Agadi and Eduard Zanga,
Conductor: Renat Salavatov.
