An Enchanted Wanderer opera to be performed within Shaliapin Festival in Kazan

(Kazan, December 21, Tatar-inform). The opera by Rodion Schedrin An Enchanted Wanderer will on 14 February 2012 within the 30th Shaliapin Festival premiere in Kazan. The opera will be presented by Mariinsky Theatre soloists, choir and orchestra on the stage of the Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Musa Jalil.

The anniversary festival will offer residents in the city a rare opportunity to watch a production of a modern opera by a “living classic” that has nearly never been played on the opera stage in Russia, except Moscow and Saint-Petersburg. It is An Enchanted Wanderer by Rodion Schedrin, whose every performance has invariably been a grand event and a hit with the public.
