Kazan-produced Lucia de Lammermoor nominated for national Golden Mask award

(Kazan, November 18, Tatar-inform). The names of the 18th Golden Mask National Theatre Awards nominees have been announced. The list includes the opera Lucia de Lammeromoor, produced by the Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Theatre after M. Jalil.

The Golden Mask official site says that having viewed 563 performances staged in 2010-2011, the panel of experts included 11 operas, 11 ballets, 18 dramas and 3 puppet plays, 3 operettas, 2 modern dance performances, as well as 4 experimental works, in the competition list.

The Kazan-produced Lucia de Lammermoor has been entered in four nominations: Best Opera Performance, Best Direction (Mikhail Panjavidze), Best Female Part (Albina Shagimuratova – Lucia) and Best Stage Designer in Musical Theatre (Igor Grinevich).

The Golden Mask competition shows will be demonstrated in Moscow on 27 March to 15 April 2012. The performances will be judged by two jury panels, one for the drama and one for the musical shows.

The awards ceremony will on 15 April take place on the Bolshoi Theatre’s historical stage.
